What is Trichotillomania?

Trichotillomania, pronounced Trick-o-till-o-may-nee-ah, is an impulsive control disorder that causes its victims to have an uncontrollable urge to pull out hair from their eyelashes and eyebrows scalp, and other bodily hair. This irresistible urge to pull causes noticeable hair loss. For most, hair pulling is a lifelong battle. Individuals with trichotillomania do their utmost to hide their hair loss and in some cases, may not be forthcoming to admitting that they are the cause of their hair loss. Trichotillomania can be life stunting for many.

THE STRUGGLES OF TRICHOTILLOMANIA

Hair pulling can start at any age, some as young as 4 years old. The emotional and social impact of trichotillomania is severe. Because trichotillomania is not understood by most people, including their family members, feelings of shame and embarrassment can have devastating effects on their life. Fear that someone will notice their hair loss and will go to great lengths to cover all unsightly areas. Huge amounts of time and money are spent on covering up their hair loss through wigs &/or hair extensions, makeup, and other remedies. The shame can be so strong that it can prevent them from reaching their full potential in life due to their appearance. Hair pulling can also lead to motion injuries in the arms, hands, and fingers. Swallowing the hair is common for some hair pullers and will lead to intestinal blockage and may require surgery.

The Trich to Stop is geared to uplift each hair puller. Having the proper steps and tools to become pull-free is crucial to the recovery process.

Application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the Uniform Computer Information Transaction Act (UCITA) is excluded from these Terms of Use.

If this provision is found to be illegal or unenforceable, then neither Party will elect to arbitrate any Dispute falling within that portion of this provision found to be illegal or unenforceable, and such Dispute shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction within the courts listed for jurisdiction above, and the Parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of that court.

Restrictions

The Parties agree that any arbitration shall be limited to the Dispute between the Parties individually. To the full extent permitted by law, (a) no arbitration shall be joined with any other proceeding; (b) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be arbitrated on a class-action basis or to utilize class action procedures; and (c) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be brought in a purported representative capacity on behalf of the general public or any other persons.
